The Noor is Iran's domestically produced anti-ship cruise missile, reverse-engineered from the Chinese C-802 and upgraded with Iranian guidance systems. It has been supplied by Iran to Houthi forces in Yemen via the IRGC Quds Force smuggling network through Oman. Houthis have used Noor missiles to target commercial shipping and warships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, contributing to the global shipping crisis. The missile's sea-skimming flight profile at 5-10 meters altitude makes it extremely difficult to detect and engage with ship-based defense systems until the final seconds of approach.
