The Fattah-2 represents Iran's most advanced strategic weapon — a hypersonic glide vehicle capable of flying at Mach 13+ in an unpredictable glide path designed to defeat existing ballistic missile defense systems including Arrow-3, Patriot, and THAAD. Iran unveiled the Fattah-2 in 2024 as an upgraded version of the Fattah-1, claiming successful penetration of Israeli air defenses in the October 2024 direct attack. Its development signals Iran's determination to achieve credible deterrence against both Israeli and US missile defense systems.
