DESCRIPTION

The Emad is Iran's first precision-guided ballistic missile with a maneuverable reentry vehicle, giving it the ability to evade terminal-phase interceptors. With 1,700 km range, it covers all of Israel, US bases in the region, and Gulf states. Iran fired hundreds of Emad missiles in its April 2024 (Operation True Promise) and October 2024 direct attacks on Israel — the first time Iran ever struck Israeli territory directly with ballistic missiles. Most were intercepted by Israel's Arrow-3, David's Sling, and US/Jordanian Patriot batteries.
