IAI HAROP
The IAI Harop is the world's most combat-proven loitering munition, a self-contained SEAD weapon that autonomously hunts enemy radar emissions and destroys air defense systems with a direct kamikaze dive. Launched from a truck-mounted canister in salvos, the Harop loiters for up to 6 hours at 1,000 km range, seeking active radar signatures with its anti-radiation seeker. When a target is identified, the operator can authorize attack or the Harop can engage autonomously. Uniquely, it can abort an attack and return to loitering if the target shuts down. Azerbaijan's devastating use of Harops to systematically destroy Armenian S-300 and Osa air defense systems in the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh War demonstrated the loitering munition concept to the world and triggered a global revolution in SEAD doctrine.
