CARL GUSTAF M4
The Carl Gustaf M4 is the latest generation of the legendary Swedish 84mm recoilless rifle system, fielded since the 1940s but continually modernized. At just 6.6 kg, the M4 is 3.4 kg lighter than the M3 thanks to a titanium-lined carbon fiber barrel. It fires an extraordinary variety of ammunition types β HEDP for bunkers, HEAT for armor, airburst for troops in defilade, smoke, and illumination β making it the most versatile shoulder-fired weapon in NATO service. The integrated intelligent sight calculates ballistics automatically, and programmable ammunition allows airburst detonation at a set range. Over 40 nations field the Carl Gustaf, with the US Army designating it as the M3E1 and issuing it at platoon level.
